Houston Rockets guard John Wall has expressed his hope that he can return to the team in the near future, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Both parties agreed that he'd remain out until a trade could be finalized, but the five-time All-Star has restarted discussions on a return to play with general manager Rafael Stone.

However, Wojnarowski reports that compromises would need to be found, which includes playing time coupled with Wall's status as a super-max player. Wall has two years and $91 million left on his current contract. There has been no signal that a buyout to make him a free agent is in the cards, per Wojnarowski.

The 31-year-old last played an NBA game on April 23 in a 109-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
