Billy Donovan has found his next gig.
The San Antonio Spurs have hired Donovan to be the lead assistant coach on Mitch Johnson's staff, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Thursday.
Donovan stepped down as Chicago Bulls head coach on April 21 after six seasons in charge. He guided them to a 226-256 record during that time and one playoff appearance.
The 61-year-old previously served as bench boss for the Oklahoma City Thunder and for Florida and Marshall in the NCAA. He was also an assistant for Kentucky.
Donovan holds a 469-413 coaching record in the NBA and 502-206 in the NCAA. He also guided Florida to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007.
The Spurs add to their coaching staff after a Western Conference title this past season.
