The Oklahoma City Thunder are holding onto Lu Dort.
The Thunder picked up Dort's $17.7 million team option on Monday, the team announced.
Dort has spent his entire seven-year career with the Thunder and has been a key member of their starting five the entire time.
The Canadian averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 38.5 per cent from the field and 34.4 per cent from three.
However, Dort is not known much for his offence, but it's on the defensive side of the court where he really shines. He brings a level of physicality that stalls opponents.
In 2024-25, Dort made the All-Defensive First Team and finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting. He helped guide the Thunder to the 2025 NBA Championship.
While keeping Dort, Oklahoma City declined Kenrich Williams' $7.2 million team option, according to NBA on Prime's Chris Haynes.
