Washington plans on holding onto its all-star big man.
The Wizards have no interest in trading Anthony Davis and will not listen to offers for him, ESPN reported on Tuesday.
The Golden State Warriors are interested in bringing in Davis, as well as free agent LeBron James, to create a super team with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday.
Green reportedly opted out of his player option on Monday to give the Warriors the flexibility needed to pursue Davis and James. He is expected to re-sign with Golden State on a cheaper deal later in the off-season.
The Warriors' pursuit of Davis is being used as a motivational tactic to get James to Golden State, per ESPN. The two won a championship together on the Lakers in 2020, and James announced Tuesday that he won't be returning to L.A. next season.
If Golden State did want to make an offer for Davis, they would have to include Jimmy Butler for salary-matching purposes.
The Wizards acquired Davis in a mid-season trade from the Dallas Mavericks, but he never got into a game as he recovered from multiple injuries.
Davis is eligible for a four-year, $275-million extension with Washington starting on Aug. 6.
The Wizards view Davis and recently signed Trae Young as the pillars of their rebuild.
