The new-look Toronto Raptors also have a refreshed coaching staff.
Head coach Darko Rajaković finalized his staff, with former Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas joining as an assistant coach, Jeremy Castleberry returning and Matt Vest also being elevated to an assistant coaching position, according to an announcement from the team on Thursday.
Joining Ike Azotam and Kareem Elliott as video coordinators and player development coaches are Stephane Ingo, Isiah Price and Aidan Wilson.
The Raptors had vacancies to fill on their bench, with neither Mike Batiste nor James Wade returning.
The son of long-time NBA head coach Paul Silas, Stephen Silas coached the Rockets for three seasons, taking over for the 2020-21 season — during which both Russell Westbrook and James Harden were traded. Over the next three seasons, Silas and the Rockets embarked on a full-scale rebuild, logging a 59-177 record.
After he was fired by Houston, Silas had a brief stint as the lead assistant on Monty Williams' Detroit Pistons staff. After Williams' doomed one-and-done campaign in Detroit, Silas went on to coach the U.S. in the 2025 and 2027 FIBA AmeriCup windows, earning an 11-3 record and winning a bronze medal last August.
Castleberry rejoins the Raptors organization after serving as an assistant coach for the Raptors' 2018-19 championship season. He remained with the Raptors' prized off-season acquisition, Kawhi Leonard, after that title run, spending the last seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Vest was an assistant video co-ordinator and player development coach under Rajaković for the last three seasons.
Ingo joins the Raptors’ staff after spending two seasons with the Sacramento Kings organization as an assistant video co-ordinator last season and as a coaching associate in 2024-25.
Before the NBA, the Mississauga, Ont., native played professionally for the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League for two seasons (2022-24).
