Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards will be out indefinitely with a right ankle injury, coach Chris Finch told the team’s radio broadcaster prior to Saturday’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

Edwards suffered the injury in a loss against the Chicago Bulls on Friday when he landed awkwardly after catching a pass. He had to be helped off the court and was wearing a walking boot afterward.

It’s another blow to the Timberwolves, who have been missing star forward Karl-Anthony Towns since November with a calf injury.

The Timberwolves (35-36) are in a tight playoff race, sitting eighth in the West.

Edwards, the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, is averaging 24.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists this season.
