Western Michigan thought it had completed the upset over powerhouse Michigan. But a last-second — literally — play completely changed the game.
The Broncos were 27.5-point underdogs against the No. 16 Wolverines but had a 12-7 lead with only seconds to go in the game. Michigan then set up for a Hail Mary play from midfield but quarterback Bryce Underwood sailed the ball out the back of the end zone, seemingly ending the game.
However, after a review, officials on the field added one more second to the clock, allowing Underwood another chance at the Hail Mary. He unloaded a 47-yard pass to JJ Buchanan, who hauled it in for the game-winning score.
As Michigan fans stormed the field to celebrate a razor-thin win, football fans took to social media to react to the stunning turn of events. Here are some of the many reactions.
