Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson is one of the many who believe that Western Michigan got robbed.
As his team gets set to take on Western Michigan in on Saturday, Danielson is prepping like he's taking on a 3-0 football team.
"I saw a little bit of what happened with the Michigan-Western Michigan game early on," Danielson said, per ESPN. "When I went back and studied this, unbelievable. They're an undefeated football team, period. End of story."
Western Michigan was on the receiving end of a controversial loss in the opening week of the season when they went to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines.
Michigan won 13-12 on a Hail Mary pass after the replay official had put one second back on the clock when Wolverines QB Bryce Underwood’s first try was incomplete.
The controversy was the talk of college football, with many questions surrounding how the officiating crew decided to give Michigan time for another try at the win.
Despite an appeal from the Mid-American Conference, which Western Michigan is a part of, the NCAA's FBS oversight committee ruled that it couldn't overturn the result.
"You watch that game, they absolutely beat Michigan at Michigan," Danielson said. "And that's not hype. That is what happened."
Danielson and Boise State enter Saturday's game 2-1, and in his mind, they will be trying to hand Western Michigan its first loss of the season.
