The long, bitter rivalry between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles has added a new chapter and it occurred with only one of the teams on the field.
After beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon, the 6-10 Giants only needed the Eagles to defeat the Washington Football Team on Sunday night to win the NFC East title and clinch a playoff spot for just the second time since they won Super Bowl XLVI in 2011.
But not only did the Eagles lose to Washington -- 20-14 -- but the team made some questionable play calls in the second half that has some Giants players crying foul. With nothing to gain but a better draft pick, the Eagles chose not to kick a field goal at the end of the third quarter then benched quarterback Jalen Hurts for the fourth quarter to give the inexperienced Nate Sudfeld some reps.
While Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said "I was coaching to win" in his post-game availability, some Giants players took to Twitter to express their frustration with how their season ended.
