The Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers are adding Canadian content.
Minutes after the NFL Draft ended Saturday, the Dolphins signed Ottawa-born defensive tackle Rene Konga to a guaranteed contract worth $287,500, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reported.
The guaranteed contract should give him a leg up on some other undrafted free agents at Dolphins camp.
Konga spent his first three collegiate seasons at Rutgers before playing his final two at Louisville.
Last season, the defensive tackle earned second-team All-ACC honours after posting 1.5 sacks, 5.0 tackles for loss and six pass breakups in 12 starts. He logged a career-high 2.5 sacks in 2024.
Wilson later reported that Canadian linebacker Wesley Bailey and tight end Rohan Jones have signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
Bailey, an Ottawa native, was a teammate of Konga at Louisville last season after transferring from Rutgers.
The Montreal-born Jones had 19 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns at Arkansas last year.
The Panthers, meanwhile, are adding Canadian receiver Malick Meiga, who gets a $15,000 signing bonus, per JC Abbott of 3DownNation.
Meiga, from Montreal, had 19 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown for Coastal Carolina last year.
All four players also will be eligible for Tuesday's CFL Draft.
