The New England Patriots are wasting no time making significant upgrades to their defence.
Cornerback Carlton Davis and linebacker Robert Spillane have agreed to three-year deals, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Davis' contract totals $60 million over three years and includes $34.5 million in guaranteed money. Spillane will earn a $37.5 million contract with $20.6 million guaranteed, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Davis joins New England after spending the 2024 season with the Detroit Lions but saw his season end in Week 15 after suffering a broken jaw. The 28-year-old completed 56 tackles, 11 pass defences, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
The 29-year-old Spillane started every game for the Las Vegas Raiders the past two seasons, averaging 153 tackles.
The Patriots also agreed on a deal with edge rusher Harold Landry on Sunday.
