Joe Mixon's search for a roster spot in the NFL continues.
The Seattle Seahawks have opted not to sign the running back to the team's practice squad after he underwent a physical, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.
Mixon will instead remain a free agent.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Mixon missed the entire 2025 season with a foot injury.
The 30-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he scored 49 touchdowns and broke the 1,000-rushing-yard threshold four times.
Mixon was traded to the Houston Texans ahead of the 2024 season and had 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns over 14 games in his lone campaign with the team.
The Seahawks selected running back Jadarian Price with the 32nd overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he sustained a chest injury in practice last week and was placed on injured reserve.
Backup Emanuel Wilson had 81 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers in Price's absence.
