The Denver Broncos have made big move on the interior defensive line.
Defensive tackle D.J. Jones and the Broncos are reportedly in agreement on a contract extension, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR and The Athletic's Nick Kosmider. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the deal is worth around $13 million per year.
The six-foot, 305-pound lineman signed with Denver before the 2022 season. Over his three seasons in the Mile High city, he started 48 of 51 games and registered five sacks.
Jones, 30, is an anchor on the Broncos defensive line that had a league-high 63 sacks in 2024, and went from a bottom-five rush defence in 2023 to the second best last season.
Re-signing Jones is the third move the Broncos have made on Sunday before the NFL legal tampering period begins. Denver had just over $40 million in cap space before the signings, per Over The Cap.
