The Colorado Avalanche say star Nathan MacKinnon won’t suit up for the team’s game against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night due to a lower-body injury.
MacKinnon had two shots in 20:28 minutes during the Avalanche’s last game, a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
The four-time all-star pivot dealt with a lower-body injury at the end of January, but only missed a single game as the team’s schedule came to a halt amid a series of postponements due to COVID-19 protocols.
The 25-year-old is tied for fourth in league scoring with 65 points in 47 games.
The Avalanche open a back-to-back series vs. the Kings on Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE and SN Now.
