Blackhawks trade centre Mattias Janmark to Golden Knights

The Golden Knights acquired Mattias Janmark, who can bolster the bottom-six forward group for a team that can make a big push in the playoffs.

The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired centre Mattias Janmark from the Chicago Blackhawks in a three-team deal also involving the San Jose Sharks.

In return, the Blackhawks receive second- and third-round picks in 2021 and 2022, respectively, and flip a fifth-rounder in 2022 to Vegas.

Janmark had 19 points in 41 games with the Blackhawks this season, whom he joined on a one-year, $2.25-million contract in the off-season.

The 28-year-old Swede, who was selected in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft, spent the first four years of his career in Dallas, recording 109 points in 297 games with the Stars.

San Jose receives a 2022 fifth-round pick from the Golden Knights and sends defenceman Nick DeSimone to Vegas to finish the deal.
