Blues sign James Neal to one-year deal after professional tryout

The St. Louis Blues have signed forward James Neal to a one-year, $750,000 deal after he joined the team on a professional tryout and scored four goals in five pre-season games.

In 13 NHL seasons, Neal has recorded 294 goals and 261 assists in 850 regular-season games with the Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

The 34-year-old produced five goals and five assists in 29 games with the Oilers last season.
