The Boston Bruins have inked another player right before the free agency period.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced in a press release Monday that they've signed forward Georgii Merkulov to a one-year, two-way deal.
The contract holds an average annual value of $775,000 per year at the NHL level.
The 24-year-old played the 2024-25 season with the Bruins' AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins. He registered 15 goals and 39 assists for 54 total points in 59 regular-season games. Merkulov ranked first in assists and points among Bruins AHL skaters.
The Russian centreman was signed as a free agent by the Boston Bruins on April 9, 2022 and made his NHL debut in Dec. 2023.
