A day after acquiring his rights, the Boston Bruins have signed defenceman Victor Soderstrom to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Saturday.
The deal carries a $775,000 average annual value.
Soderstrom was traded to Boston on Friday for prospect Ryan Mast and a 2025 seventh-round pick.
The 24-year-old Swedish defenceman appeared in 49 games in the Swedish Hockey League last season, posting nine goals and 28 assists while winning the Borje Salming Trophy as the league's top blue-liner. Soderstrom also led all SHL skaters at plus-28.
The Arizona Coyotes selected the young defenceman with the 11th pick in the 2019 draft. Over four seasons, Soderstrom has netted one goal and added 10 helpers in 53 NHL games.
Soderstrom has also played in 170 AHL games, all with the Tucson Roadrunners, where the right-shot blue-liner totalled 82 points (16 goals, 66 assists.
