The Montreal Canadiens announced defenceman Jeff Petry is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Petry was wearing a no-contact jersey during Monday's practice in Vancouver at Rogers Arena.
Petry has 13 points — four goals and nine assists — in 49 games this season.
The 34-year-old from Ann Arbor, Mich., has three years remaining on his contract but has been the subject of trade reports with the deadline just two weeks away and Montreal (15-34-7) currently sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference.
Forwards Jake Evans (upper body), Paul Byron (upper body), Jonathan Drouin (wrist) and Christian Dvorak (upper body) plus defenceman Joel Edmundson (back) were also at practice in no-contact jerseys as they all work their way back from injuries.
Goaltender Jake Allen, who has been out since Jan. 12 due to a lower-body injury, returned to practice as well.
Montreal holds a 7-3-0 record over its last 10 games and next plays the Canucks in Vancouver on Wednesday night.
