The Vancouver Canucks will be looking for a seventh straight win when they visit the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night as +115 road underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Faced with a growing number of players sidelined by COVID-19, the Canucks have been idle since tallying a 5-2 win in San Jose on December 16. With that win, Vancouver remains undefeated in six outings under recently hired head coach Bruce Boudreau going into Wednesday night’s matchup at the Honda Center.
The extended Christmas break has enabled the Canucks to rebound from the latest coronavirus crisis, with veteran Alex Chiasson remaining as the only player in jeopardy of health and safety protocols as the team leaves town for a two-game road trip.
That’s good news for Vancouver, which stumbled to a dismal 6-14-2 start but has since turned things around during an 8-1-0 run. The Canucks have been effective at both ends of the ice, outscoring opponents by a wide 21-10 margin during their current six-game win streak. The team has also won three straight on the road, ending a six-game slide.

The Ducks, meanwhile, are making efforts to overcome COVID-19 concerns of their own as they return to action as -135 home favourites at betting sites. The Ducks come out of a 12-day break with just one regulation loss in their past 10 outings as they battle the Vegas Golden Knights for position atop the Pacific Division. Anaheim has also enjoyed steady success against the Canucks, claiming victory in five straight meetings, according to the OddsShark NHL Database, including wins in a pair of November matchups.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the Edmonton Oilers will be trying to close the gap on the top of the Pacific Division standings as they visit the St. Louis Blues as +110 underdogs. The Oilers look to pick up where they left off after entering the Christmas break riding a two-game win streak. However, the team opened the week with several players still in protocol, including forwards Zack Kassian and Jesse Puljujarvi, and rearguards Duncan Keith and Darnell Nurse.
Listed as -130 favourites to tally a third straight victory over the Oilers, the Blues have earned victories in five of their last seven outings. The Blues have also successfully weathered the recent coronavirus storm, but are still enduring a rash of injuries that has sidelined several players including Brayden Schenn and Robert Thomas.
