The Vancouver Canucks added some depth on the back end on Tuesday.
Vancouver announced that it has signed 30-year-old defenceman Jimmy Schuldt to a two-year, two-way contract.
Schuldt spent the 2024-25 season with the San Jose Sharks and the AHL's San Jose Barracuda. He skated in eight games at the NHL level and 64 in the AHL. The left-shot D-man served as the Barracuda's captain, scoring six goals and 21 points while posting a plus-22.
Schuldt was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019 and made his NHL debut with the team in 2018-19, recording an assist in his only game of the season.
The Minnetonka, Minn., native has played in 354 career AHL games and 65 career games in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
