Capitals fined $100K for violating NHL's COVID-19 protocols

The Washington Capitals have been fined $100,000 for violating the NHL's COVID-19 safety protocols.

The violation was regarding "social interactions among team members who were in close contact and who were not wearing face coverings."

Several teams have been forced to postpone games this season due to the coronavirus, with the Carolina Hurricanes having the latest postponements.

Washington is 2-0-2 in its first four games in 2021.
