The Carolina Hurricanes have signed another goaltender to provide some depth next season.
Nikita Quapp has agreed to a two-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes. The deal is worth an average annual value of $775,000.
The 22-year-old native of Germany has spent the past five seasons playing in the DEL, Germany's top pro division. He has a 6-18-0 record with a .870 save percentage in 34 career DEL games.
The Hurricanes selected Quapp in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft. In addition to his time in the DEL, Quapp has also represented Germany three times at the men's world championships.
"Nikita is a big netminder with several years of experience in the top German League," said general manager Eric Tulsky in a statement. "We look forward to tracking his development as he transitions to professional hockey in North America."
