Devils defenceman Dougie Hamilton exits game with lower-body injury

Troy Terry had two goals and an assist to extend his point streak to nine games as the Anaheim Ducks shut out the New Jersey Devils 4-0.

New Jersey Devils defenceman Dougie Hamilton left Tuesday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks with a lower-body injury after the first period.

"No update," Devils coach Lindy Ruff said after a 4-0 loss. "I know he talked to the trainers after the first. We were hoping he was going to be able to come back."

Hamilton, who signed a seven-year, $63 million contract with the Devils in the off-season, has two goals and four assists in eight games this season.

The 28-year-old Toronto native has 108 goals and 239 assists in 615 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey.
