The Calgary Flames have one more chance to end the pre-season in the win column.
The Flames suffered a 4-3 shootout loss to the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night in their penultimate pre-season game, where they dressed a majority of their AHL squad.
Calgary first broke a 1-1 tie in the second period, with goals from Rory Kerins and Aydar Suniev to build a two-goal lead for the visiting squad.
Suniev, 21, now has three goals in two pre-season games as the 2023 third-rounder looks to make the big-league team out of training camp.
The Flames' lead wouldn't last, however, as goals from Brandon Montour and Ryker Evans levelled the game for the Kraken, who went on to win the game in the shootout.
It was a chippy affair in which the two teams combined for 65 penalty minutes in the second period alone.
Devin Cooley played all three periods for the Flames, finishing with an .885 save percentage with 23 saves on 26 shots.
The Flames close their pre-season on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers.
