The Calgary Flames have selected Topi Ronni with the 59th-overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

A six-foot-one centre from Finland, Ronni was considered the 31st-best skater available, according to Central Scouting.

Ronni enjoyed his most productive stretch last season while a member of Tappara's Under-20 squad, scoring 29 points in 30 games.

The 18-year-old also appeared in the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup. Throughout the tournament, he registered six points in five games.

Toppi was Calgary's first selection in the NHL Draft this year, even though his name was called in the second round. The Flames dealt their 2022 first-round pick as part of the trade that brought Tyler Toffoli to Calgary from the Montreal Canadiens.
