The Calgary Flames have brought forward Justin Kirkland back into the fold.
Calgary announced Wednesday that it has signed the 27-year-old to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000.
Kirkland spent the 2023-24 season in the Arizona Coyotes organization, playing in two NHL games and 43 AHL games with the Tuscon Roadrunners. While he didn't record any points with the Coyotes, the Winnipeg native scored eight goals and tallied 30 AHL points.
Originally selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Kirkland played with the Flames' AHL affiliate from 2019-20 to 2021-22.
