Flyers' Sean Couturier undergoes back surgery, out for rest of season

Philadelphia Flyers centre Sean Couturier underwent successful back surgery on Friday morning and will be out for the remainder of the season, the team announced.

Couturier, 29, was diagnosed with an upper-body injury and placed on injured reserve on Dec. 30 after exiting the league's COVID-19 protocol.

Couturier has recorded six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 29 games this season.
