Former Arizona Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet will be interviewed by the New York Rangers and Seattle Kraken for their vacant head coach positions, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli was first to report Tocchet will interview with the Kraken.

Tocchet would be the first known candidate for the Kraken head coach vacancy. Tocchet and the Coyotes mutually parted ways on May 9 after falling out of playoff contention.

Newly promoted Rangers general manager Chris Drury fired head coach David Quinn and three assistants last week.

Tocchet spent four seasons with the Coyotes and made the playoffs once in 2019-20, losing to the Colorado Avalanche in the first round after beating the Nashville Predators in the qualifying round.
