The Vegas Golden Knights announced Wednesday captain Mark Stone will be out of the lineup indefinitely after undergoing back surgery.
Stone is expected to make a full recovery according to the team.
The 30-year-old right winger from Winnipeg had 17 goals and 38 points in 43 games before sustaining the injury on Jan. 12.
Stone, who was named the first captain in franchise history on Jan. 13, 2021, also missed 26 games last year with back issues.
The Golden Knights (29-18-4) are third in the Pacific Division but are in the midst of a four-game losing streak.
Vegas next plays on the road against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday following the All-Star break.
