The Carolina Hurricanes will get some help in goal with Frederik Andersen getting activated off injured reserve.
The move comes after the 35-year-old has been sidelined following knee surgery, missing 38 games dating back to Oct. 28.
Andersen participated in the morning skate and is expected to be the backup goaltender with Pyotr Kochetkov slated to start against the Bufallo Sabres Friday.
Andersen is 3-1-0 with a 1.48 goals-against and .941 save percentage through his four games played this year. The former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie suited up in 16 games for the Hurricanes last season, logging a 13-2-0 record in that span.
