The Carolina Hurricanes traded defenceman Haydn Fleury to the Anaheim Ducks at Monday's NHL trade deadline.

Anaheim sent defenceman Jani Hakanpaa and a 2022 sixth-round pick to Carolina in the deal.

Fleury, 24, has spent his entire four-year NHL career with the Hurricanes after being selected seventh overall by the club in the 2014 draft. He skated in 35 games with the Hurricanes in 2020-21, scoring one goal.

Hakanpaa, 29, was in his second campaign with the Ducks and notched one assist in 42 games this season.
