The Dallas Stars captain is coming back for another season.
Jamie Benn has signed a one-year, $850,000 deal to return to the Stars, the team announced on Friday.
The 36-year-old has spent his entire 17-year career in Dallas. In 1,252 games, he’s totalled 414 goals and 578 assists.
Benn has served as the Stars’ captain since 2013.
The winger was contemplating retirement after the Stars were eliminated in Round 1 of the playoffs by the Minnesota Wild. However, he now returns with hopes of getting a Stanley Cup on his resume.
Benn has appeared in 126 post-season contests with Dallas and has 80 points (28 goals, 52 assists).
