Winnipeg Jets captain Blake Wheeler has tested positive for COVID-19 and is symptomatic, the team announced Tuesday.

All other players who underwent testing returned negative results at this time.

Wheeler entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocol on Monday, and must now isolate for at least 10 days before he's eligible to re-join the team.

Wheeler could be eligible to return as early as Oct. 28, which would rule him out for at least four games.

The 35-year-old has registered one assist in two games so far this season.
