The announcement of the signing follows yesterday's news that True was one of the several Kraken players who were extended a qualifying offer by the team.
The 24-year-old Denmark native has played in 27 NHL games up to this point in his career, eight being with the Kraken during the 2021-2022 season. In the 27 games, he has collected five points — all assists.
True was Seattle's expansion draft choice from the San Jose Sharks leading up to their initiation into the league this past season. While True spent most of the year with AHL affiliate Charlotte Checkers, he was the leading scorer for the team with 18 goals and 24 assists for a total of 42 points in 60 games.
In the upcoming 2022-2023 season, the Kraken will have a new AHL affiliate in the Coachella Valley Thunderbirds for their inaugural season. According to the Kraken's press release of the signing, True will earn a different salary in the minors should he spend time again at that level.
