Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon has twice tested negative for COVID-19 and has travelled with the team to Washington ahead of their game against the Capitals on Tuesday night.

Despite testing positive for the coronavirus for a second time on Saturday, MacKinnon has since been cleared after the two negative tests and could make his season debut against the Capitals.

MacKinnon initially tested positive on Oct. 12 and was ruled out of Colorado's home opener as a result.
