Matthew Robertson is staying in New York.
New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury announced Friday that the team has extended the defenceman's contract for another two years.
Per The Athletic's Peter Baugh, the contract will be a two-way deal for the first year, and then a one-way deal at the league minimum ($775,000) for the second.
The 24-year-old played 60 games in the AHL for the Hartford Wolf Pack during the 2024-25 season. He recorded career highs of 25 points and 24 assists, leading his Wolf Pack defencemen in both categories.
Robertson made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers this past season against Florida on April 14, 2025. He played two games with the Rangers and logged a plus-three rating in 120 minutes.
Robertson was selected 49th overall by the Rangers in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
