With their season on the line, the Edmonton Oilers came out guns a-blazing.
The Oilers, down 3-1 in their first-round series against the Anaheim Ducks, netted three quick goals in the opening minutes of Game 5 and chased goaltender Lukas Dostal.
The 25-year-old was replaced midway through the first period for Ville Husso after playing just over 10 minutes and allowing the three goals on nine shots.
The Oilers went on to win the Game 4-1 to extend the series to a Game 6.
Vasily Podkolzin netted the first for Edmonton only 2:22 into the game, wiring one over Dostal's right shoulder off a beauty cross-ice pass from Evan Bouchard.
It marked the second straight game that the Oilers scored on their opening shot of the game, with that Game 4 goal also on Dostal.
Six minutes later, Zach Hyman netted his second of the post-season, capitalizing on a failed clearance from Dostal that went to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins along the boards, and was fired back in front of the net for a waiting Hyman.
The last straw for Dostal came less than two minutes later when Leon Draisaitl redirected a shot from Bouchard through the goaltender's legs.
Dostal has had an up-and-down year for the Ducks, registering a 30-20-4 record, 3.10 goals-against average and .888 save percentage in 56 regular-season games. He hasn't been much better in the post-season, as he entered Tuesday's contest with a 3.77 GAA and .878 save percentage.
