Pat Maroon signs two-year contract to stay with Lightning

Pat Maroon talks about what it means to win the Stanley Cup in back-to-back years.

The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed winger Pat Maroon to a two-year contract Friday.

Maroon played 64 regular-season and 25 post-season games with Tampa Bay in 2019-20.

Maroon has now won back-to-back Stanley Cups. The power forward won with the Blues in 2019 before signing a one-year deal with the Lightning in August of 2019 and raising the Cup last month in the Edmonton bubble.

The 32-year-old brought to the Lightning a physical edge they were previously missing and played a key supporting role during the team’s championship run.
