The Pittsburgh Penguins are bringing back Filip Hallander.
The team announced Tuesday that the 24-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract with an average annual value of $775,000.
Selected 58th overall by Pittsburgh in the 2018 NHL Draft, Hallander spent two seasons with the organization, most recently in 2022–23.
He appeared in three NHL games over that span without recording a point. In 104 AHL games with Pittsburgh’s affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he registered 61 points.
Hallander spent the past two seasons in Sweden playing for Timra IK of the SHL. In 2024-25, he tallied 53 points (26 goals, 27 assists) in 51 games.
Hallander was briefly part of the Maple Leafs after being traded to Toronto from Pittsburgh in August 2020. He never played a game for the organization and was traded back to Pittsburgh in July 2021.
