Nashville Predators defenceman Mark Borowiecki will have a hearing for kneeing Arizona Coyotes forward Dmitrij Jaskin.
The incident occurred at 12:30 of the first period as Jaskin was carrying the puck in the neutral zone and collided with Borowiecki. Coyotes forward Antoine Roussel stepped in to fight Borowiecki after the hit.
Borowiecki was assessed a major penalty for kneeing, a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct on the play. Roussel was given an instigator minor, a fighting major and a 10-minute misconduct.
Jaskin did not return to the game due to a lower-body injury. After the game, head coach Andre Tourigny said the injury would keep Jaskin out of the lineup for a while.
“It’s long term,” he said. “It’s lower-body, but it will be really long term.”
