The New York Rangers have placed goalie Igor Shesterkin on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Shesterkin had to be helped to the locker-room during a 1-0 win over the San Jose Sharks on Friday.

The Rangers are hopeful Shesterkin will not be out long.

The 25-year-old Russian is 13-3-2 with a 2.05 goals-against average and .937 save percentage this season.

The Rangers called up goalie Adam Huska from AHL Hartford to fill Shesterkin's spot on the roster.
