Red Wings' Dylan Larkin undergoes season-ending core muscle surgery

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin will miss the rest of the season after undergoing core muscle surgery on Monday, the team announced.

The Red Wings say Larkin will need eight to 10 weeks to recover.

Larkin leads the Red Wings with 69 points (31 goals, 38 assists) in 71 games this season.

The Waterford, Mich., native is in his second season as team captain and has appeared in 504 career games for the Red Wings, notching 358 points (147 goals, 211 assists).
