Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso was forced to leave Tuesday's game against the Edmonton Oilers with a lower-body injury.
Husso appeared to be injured when he stretched to try and make a save on a goal from Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl.
Backup goaltender Alex Lyon came into the game to replace Husso after the goal. The Red Wings declared Lyon out after the first period.
Husso has dealt with a number of different injuries this season and has only played in 19 games. Coming into Tuesday's contest, the 29-year-old netminder had a 3.53 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
The Finnish goalie was selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. He didn't make his NHL debut for the Blues until the 2020-21 season.
The Red Wings traded for Husso at the 2022 NHL Draft, then immediately signed him to a three-year, $14.25 million contract.
