Defenceman Ben Chiarot has signed a four-year contract worth $4.75 million annually with the Detroit Red Wings.

The deal includes a 10-team no-trade list, according to Sportsnet's Eric Engels.

Earlier Wednesday, the Red Wings made another significant addition with the signing of forward Andrew Copp.

The Florida Panthers acquired Chiarot from the Montreal Canadiens prior to the trade deadline last season.

Chiarot, 31, had a combined nine goals and 17 assists in 74 games with the Canadiens and Panthers last season.

Chiarot has 31 goals and 89 assists in 489 career NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, Canadiens and Panthers.

The Hamilton, Ont., native was a fourth-round pick (120th overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Draft.
