The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Michael Rasmussen to a three-year contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but PuckPedia reports the contract carries an average annual value of $1.46 million.

Rasmussen was a first-round pick, ninth overall, by the Red Wings in 2017. He has appeared in 102 NHL games over the past three seasons, scoring 11 goals and 30 points.

A big body who sees time on the power play, he had three goals and 12 points in 40 games last season.
