The Belleville Senators, the Ottawa Senators' American Hockey League affiliate, announced Tuesday that forward Zack MacEwen will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons.
"The entire Senators organization is committed to assisting Zack during this time," said the team in a statement. "He is a valued member of our organization and has our full support."
MacEwen has split time this season between Belleville and Ottawa. In 21 games with the big club, he recorded two goals and one assist, and has five goals and four assists in 15 games in the AHL.
The 28-year-old forward has played in 237 games across parts of seven seasons in the NHL.
