Travis Green isn't going anywhere.
The Ottawa Senators signed the head coach to a contract extension through the 2030-31 season, the team announced on Monday.
Assistants Nolan Baumgartner, Ben Sexton and Mike Yeo, along with goaltending coach Justin Peters, also received extensions, the team said.
Green, 55, took over behind the Senators' bench ahead of the 2024-25 season and has led the team to the post-season — ending an eight-year drought — in each of his two campaigns.
The Senators lost in the first round in both instances.
Still, the Senators have been largely successful under Green, who has posted a 95-60-18 regular-season record with the franchise. Despite off-season turbulence, including the trade of captain Brady Tkachuk, Green has the Senators off to a 6-3-0 start this season.
"When I was in the search to identify our head coach two years ago, it was clear to me that Travis had the qualities to move our team forward. I have watched him implement systems and structures that have reinforced my belief in his coaching abilities," general manager Steve Staios said in a statement. "We share the same vision and philosophy and are confident we can continue to build on our team."
Green, of Castlegar, B.C., is the 14th head coach in Senators history and tied for fifth among that group in wins.
Next up for the Senators is the return of Tkachuk alongside the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.
