Macklin Celebrini will finally get to see the ice for pre-season hockey.
Celebrini will suit up in the San Jose Sharks' pre-season finale against the Utah Mammoth on Saturday, head coach Ryan Warsofsky confirmed.
The first overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft had been held out of the first five exhibition games while recovering from an illness.
Celebrini will centre a line between Will Smith and Philipp Kurashev, while Yaroslav Askarov starts in goal.
The 29-year-old Celebrini enjoyed a strong rookie season, scoring 25 goals and 63 points in 70 games, which made him a finalist for the Calder Trophy.
