The Dallas Stars have signed forward Denis Gurianov to a one-year contract extension worth $2.9 million, the team announced Tuesday.

The 25-year-old was scheduled to become a restricted free agent next month.

Gurianov had 31 points in 73 games last season, setting a career-high with 20 assists. Over 214 career games, all with the Stars, he has 44 goals and 94 points.

The Stars originally selected Gurianov in the first round, 12th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft.
